“Novartis is one of the leaders in this field in Israel. At any given time, it treats around 650,000 people in Israel and has 70 clinical trials running in different centers. Every month, the company provides compassionate care to 180,000 patients,” said Novartis Israel President Elad Maron at the Novartis Israel Health Innovation Meetup, held in collaboration with the aMoon Foundation at the Startup Nation Central offices in Tel Aviv.

While Novartis in Israel is focused on marketing and clinical trials, Maron says, “We know we can do much more. We want to make our mark beyond Israel by building bridges between Israel and the world.” The aim is to spread Israeli innovation to the world by building collaborations between Novartis, Israeli biomedical companies, and Israeli academic institutions.
Maron was appointed country president of Novartis Israel about two years ago. To date, the company hasn’t collaborated much with the Israeli ecosystem, but Novartis seems determined to change that. That decision was supported by a sizable delegation that came to the meeting from abroad.
