Surachha Udomsak, chief innovation officer at SCG Chemicals, confirmed that the superoxide process allows PVC waste to be fully recycled.
“This process can be implemented in small factories and has the potential to recycle large amounts of waste,” he said.
The company said it plans to adopt the process to treat plastic waste to help operate a petrochemical plant in Thailand.
“This cooperation will lead Thailand towards a circular economy, which is in line with the company’s plan to promote a low-carbon society,” he added.
Tal Cohen, co-founder and CEO of Plastic Bag, said the collaboration with SCG Chemicals will boost the recycling of PVC waste and lead to further partnerships.
“IIA and NIA play an important role in cooperation in knowledge integration and co-creation of innovation,” he said.
