Nigeria and Israel have agreed to cooperate in agriculture and other development programs.
Ambassador of Israel to Nigeria, Ambassador Michael Freeman, during his visit to Senator Oluremi Tinubu of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at the State House, Abuja, on women empowerment, agriculture, youth development and education.
In addition to agriculture, he highlighted other areas in which the Israeli government looks forward to cooperation with the First Lady’s Office. These include Science and Technology, which plans to open 30 more innovation centers across the country in addition to the innovation center already operational in Abuja.
Ambassador Freeman revealed that Israel plans to set up computer classes to train girls rescued after being trafficked.
He informed the hosts about a proposed textile arts program for Nigerian youths, explaining that they would work with Israelis to train them to improve their skills.
In response, Senator Oluremi Tinubu expressed her appreciation for the proposed cooperation, noting that the key areas mentioned were the same areas of key interest to her.
She stressed that Nigeria will overcome all challenges currently facing her.
“Thanks to the great cooperation and support from our foreign friends, we are heading in a great direction,” she said.
