In the wake of the events of October 7th, and as Israel continues to wage war against its diabolical enemy, the people of Israel must do much more than they have done in order to secure a better future. I have come to realize that I have to change my erroneous concepts. Just as we must change our military concepts and our fantasies about Hamas and other Islamic groups, so too must we rethink and change our concepts of aliyah. On October 7, Israel was caught by surprise and unprepared. Are you ready to promote the coming massive wave of aliyah? If violence against Jews explodes out of control around the world, does Israel have a plan to evacuate Jews in Paris, London, New York, South Florida, and Los Angeles? Is Israel ready to accommodate the millions of Jewish refugees who will sooner or later flood our shores? Did the Israeli government buy hundreds of thousands of emergency tents? This may seem like a futuristic scenario, but it could easily become reality soon. Who would have imagined that 300 missiles would be fired at us from Iran? Who can promise that things won’t get worse? The State of Israel was established as a place of refuge for all Jews. Are you ready to fulfill that Charter mission today?
Grassroots aliyah activists in Israel are holding an emergency meeting in Jerusalem after the holiday of Pesach in response to rising global anti-Semitism and chaos on college campuses across the United States. Yosef Mendelevich, Jonathan Pollard, Rabbi Leo Dee, and representatives from NBN and Israel Aliyah Krita Ministries will be in attendance, and the venue will be filled with grassroots aliyah activists. It is clear to us that the Lord of the world is causing great upheavals in Israel and throughout the world in order to bring his chosen people home, as he has done many times in the past. For decades since the founding of Israel, God has patiently waited for the Jews of the West to return home on their own, but now that patience appears to be at an end. As Ze’ev Jabotinsky warned ten years before the Holocaust, we must liquidate the diaspora before it liquidates us. It’s time to go home.
The urgency and seriousness of the situation, and the potential for Jews around the world to face an even greater outburst of hatred as Israel continues its very just war, urges us to think “outside the box.” Have to. The old formula doesn’t work. New aid programs and new incentives to attract immigrants are important, but unless aliyah becomes a national priority, they will only succeed in attracting thousands more immigrants to Israel. Fortunately, the heads of the Nefesh Bunefesh and Aliyah Krita ministries are open to implementing new ideas. They will attend aliya meetings to hear our opinions. They have the human resources and financial resources to put new ideas into practice, along with the Israeli government and the various institutions that handle aliyah, such as the Jewish Agency and the WZO, so we can use their dedicated 24-hour We hope to be able to influence the activities of the regime. work. Thinking together as a team, with G-d’s help, we can revolutionize our ongoing salvation. This revolution began long ago in ancient Egypt and should be gaining momentum today as millions of our brothers and sisters come together. A longer and more comfortable exile to the West. The call: “Let my people go!” It must resonate once again.
Just as Israel needs to be more active in the Gaza Strip, we also need to be more active in Jewish communities and university campuses across the diaspora. Israel is at war, but wars against Jews everywhere are raging. Instead of spending billions of dollars to strengthen Jewish identity in exile, we need to switch our focus to aliyah. For example, Jewish groups active on college campuses seek to engage Jewish students against extreme anti-Israel sentiment, but aliyah is simply not on their agenda. Aliyah Commando teams of idealistic young Israelis must be immediately dispatched to university campuses to invite beleaguered Jewish students to be part of a higher mission in the Jewish homeland. The Israeli government plans to offer free tuition to students who make aliyah, and the word must spread. Complete undergraduate curricula in a variety of majors should be created immediately at multiple Israeli universities to provide America’s beleaguered college students with an option of escape. Teams of other idealists from the settler community must be sent far and wide to bring families to Judea and Samaria, where the government is ready to offer new and important incentives. . Diaspora rabbis must encourage aliyah. To encourage this change, Israel’s leading rabbis must be summoned to issue a proclamation calling on Diaspora rabbis and Jewish educators to actively teach the Torah commandments of living in Israel. Must be. Diaspora congregations must establish a fund to help people make aliyah. Parents must encourage their children to attend Israeli universities. Chabad has to jump on the aliyah bandwagon and hand out aliyah pamphlets in addition to Hanukkah candles and tefillin. Additionally, Chabad must be encouraged to move its world headquarters to Israel to fulfill our Pesach wish: “Next Year in Jerusalem.” Diaspora Jews should not be offered “fig leaf hechsher” as if it is okay to live in a Gentile land where assimilation is constantly ramping up and Jewish hatred gets even worse. And the Israeli government must soon begin building the appropriate infrastructure to absorb the large number of diaspora refugees seeking safe haven in Israel. At the same time, even greater efforts are being made to bring back home the lost tribes, the countless people in India, Afghanistan, South America, and other places who wish to preserve Jewish traditions and fully convert and immigrate to Israel. must be done. These people worked hard, fought hard, and proved to be excellent citizens of Israel. I am happy with my new life in the Holy Land.
These are just some of the proposals that will be discussed at an upcoming emergency aliyah meeting and then submitted to public government bodies. All aliyah activists are invited to participate. An emergency aliyah meeting will be held on May 1 from 5-9 p.m. at the Hiba Center, 75 Herzog Boulevard in Jerusalem. For more information please call 0507810595.
