Dark Entries, dweller and Night Slugs support cultural boycott of Israel · News ⟋ RAD Dozens of labels, promoters and organisations have joined forces with the Palestinian Movement for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI).Members of the clubbing community around the world support the Palestinian Movement for an Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI). Numerous labels, promoters and organisations have voiced their support for the movement, including Dark Entries, Night Slugs, dweller, FIST, PAPI JUICE, Technomaterialism and Antifascist Music Alliance. Venues such as the Pageant in New York, The Novo in Los Angeles and The Lab in San Francisco have also supported PACBI. “Cultural institutions and their communities are part of the ideological and institutional scaffolding of Israel’s occupation, settler colonialism and apartheid regime against the Palestinian people,” reads a PACBI statement. “Israeli cultural institutions (performing arts companies, music groups, film organisations, writers’ guilds, festivals etc.) have cast their lot with Israel’s hegemonic Zionist regime.” Founded in 2004, PACBI is a sub-organisation of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement that oversees the academic and cultural aspects of the boycott. In the UK, over 100 British cultural figures have signed an open letter coordinated by Artists for Palestine UK, calling on Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer to stop arms sales to Israel if elected on July 4. Signatories include Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja, Resident Advisor contributor Dan Hancox and comedian Steve Coogan. “We the signatories urge you to speak out against the ongoing atrocities committed by Israel and to commit to stopping arms sales to Israel if you become Prime Minister,” the letter reads. “In just eight months, more than 35,000 people have been killed by Israel. The International Court of Justice, the UN’s highest court, has ordered Israel to “immediately cease military attacks in Rafah.” But Israel has ignored this ruling, bombing the designated “safe zone” 60 times within 48 hours, causing the deaths of entire families.” At least 36,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have been killed by Israel since it declared war on Hamas on October 7 after terror attacks left at least 1,200 people dead. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to dismiss widespread calls for a ceasefire. Read the full statement from PACBI and Artists For Palestine UK:
