A day after the Maldives decided to ban entry to the country for people holding Israeli passports, the Israeli embassy in India encouraged Israeli nationals to visit and explore India’s beaches.
According to VisaGuide.World, the Israeli Embassy in India, through a post on X (formerly Twitter), has also recommended several locations in India, including Goa, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Kerala.
Although the Maldives no longer welcomes Israelis, there are some beautiful and wonderful Indian beaches where Israeli tourists are warmly welcomed and given the utmost hospitality.

Maldives bans entry for Israeli citizens as war in Gaza continues
The Maldives banned Israeli passport holders from entering the country amid public anger amid the ongoing war in Gaza. However, the Maldives still attracts more than one million tourists each year, of which 15,000 are from Israel. Meanwhile, 528 Israelis visited the Maldives in the first four months of this year, fewer than the 4,644 who visited during the same period in 2023. About 10,966 Israeli tourists visited the Maldives in 2023, while 15,748 Israelis visited the country in 2023.
Israel issued a travel warning in December urging its citizens to avoid traveling to the Maldives, citing rising anti-Israeli sentiment during the war with Hamas.
Israel has not had diplomatic ties with the Muslim-majority country since diplomatic relations were suspended in 1974. The Maldives Presidency announced in a press release that President Mohamed Muizz had taken the decision to ban Israeli passports, following the recommendation of his cabinet.
At the same time, the press release stated that the decision includes the necessary amendments to legislation to prevent Israeli passport holders from entering the Maldives, as well as the establishment of a Cabinet subcommittee to oversee these efforts.

Last week, the Israeli Foreign Ministry advised Israeli citizens not to travel to the Maldives after the Maldivian government banned visitors with Israeli passports, a recommendation that also applies to Israelis with dual nationality.
